Abstract

The alert dissemination time of a seismic alert system allows evaluating the efficiency in alerting the population in a short time. In this research, a seismic alert system was proposed to generate an alert message automatically according to the vibration level of the P wave in a building when an earthquake occurs. This system is composed to an Internet-FM communication system, servers and acquisition and activation modules. The results show that the seismic alert system has a rapid response, less than or equal to 600 ms, to a seismic event of any of the intensity levels analyzed with a probability of 86.9%.
