Abstract

This paper introduces a novel approach to multi-band image transmission using the FM-RDS standard. An algorithm has been designed and implemented to enable efficient data packet transmission within the payload of the standard. To accomplish this, coding techniques have been employed to ensure viable time ranges, especially for potential applications in emergency alert monitoring. The test results demonstrate that a 512 x 512 pixels RGB image can be transmitted in 109.06 seconds with a packet loss rate of less than 0.5%. In addition, a basic comparison was made with the LoRa link, revealing a better performance under the same experimental conditions.
